Club Presentation:  
     
Welcome to the Club Canadien Du Berger Picard website. We hope you will find the information useful and will give you the opportunity to know and better understand the Berger Picard. We are a non-profit Club.
       
The Berger Picard is the oldest French Shepherd and it originates from the Picardy region in France.
       
The Club mandate is to protect and educate, the Berger Picard is a pure breed dog which was has been recognized by the CKC since August 19th, 1992.

Club Rules    
       
For regular members:    
  • Promote the Berger Picard Canadian Club and participate as often as possible in its activities.
  • Educate your Berger Picard with rigor and respect so he becomes a proud ambassador of the breed.
  • Purchase only duly registered dogs from recognized organization such as: CKC LOF UKC.
  • Notify the club if forced to part from your Berger Picard
       
For breeder members:      
  • Breeder members must only use registered breeding stock to produce offspring and all puppies must be permanently identified and registered.
  • Only one litter per year, per dam should be produced. If a dam has two litters in the same year she should be put at rest for one year.
  • Berger Picard breeder members must strive to meet the breed standard.
  • Only sound and healthy Picard’s that have been x-rayed for hip dysplasia and have had a yearly eye exam by a specialist should be used as breeding dogs
-The Berger Picard Canadian Club is not to be held liable for puppies sold by its breeder members.-

How to become a member:    
       
Privileges
  • Membership Card.
  • New bulletin 3 times per year.
  • Photo section for Berger Picard members.
  • Boutique Discount.
  • Activities organized by the Club for the members (seminars, trips, competitions).
 
       
Everyone has the choice of the type of subscription as follows:
  • Single subscription, $30.00 (18 years and older).
  • Family subscription $40.00 (spouse and children).
